There are almost as many brewing methods to try as there are coffees including traditional espresso based drinks such as flat white and americano as well as filter pour overs, french press, siphon and even Turkish. The knowledgeable baristas will help you choose the best coffee and brew method combination to suit your palate but be careful, with so much choice it’s easy to go over your daily caffeine quota!

Bootlegger Coffee Company

The top quality hand roasted coffee and locally sourced food means the cafe is busy but the laid back, friendly staff are welcoming and the service is excellent. WiFi is good here so bring your laptop or tablet or stop off for take aways on the way to Camps Bay. Woodstock could be compared to London’s East End as an area that has seen dramatic urban renewal of late and has attracted some of the country’s most creative and exciting artisans to set up shop there. This includes Rosetta Roastery in the Woodstock Exchange and Espresso Lab in the Old Biscuit Mill. Both roasteries draw from and add to the creative energy that permeates through Woodstock and baristas will serve you hand crafted coffee brewed in a variety of methods in which you can taste the dedication, passion and knowledge of the master roaster in every sip.

Those exploring further afield can leave Cape Town safe in the knowledge that the excellent coffee experience continues along the Garden Route.
